What we actually treat
The honest truth: there is no magic spray that eliminates spotted lanternflies from your property — they fly in from anywhere within a quarter mile. What we CAN do:
1. Treat Tree-of-Heaven on your property with a systemic injection — this kills the host plant they prefer to feed on 2. Perimeter spray that knocks down lanternflies contacting treated surfaces (decks, fences, exterior siding) 3. Treat the secondary pest problem — yellow jackets, paper wasps, and pavement ants that swarm the sugary honeydew lanternflies leave behind. This is often what homeowners actually want. 4. Egg mass scraping in winter for any visible masses on tree bark or outdoor furniture
What costs what
| Service | Cost |
|---|---|
| Single perimeter treatment | $150–$300 |
| Tree-of-Heaven systemic injection (per tree) | $75–$150 |
| Bundle (perimeter + Tree-of-Heaven) | $250–$450 |
| Wasp/yellow jacket secondary treatment | $125–$250 |
| Quarterly add-on (existing customers) | $40–$80 per visit |
What you can do yourself
- Stomp adults. It won't make a population dent but it reduces what's in your yard.
- Scrape egg masses in winter. They look like dried-mud splatter, mostly on tree bark.
- Don't waste money on bug zappers — lanternflies don't respond to UV light
- Be careful with sticky bands — they catch birds and beneficial insects. Use a wire mesh cover if you must.
- Cut down Tree-of-Heaven on your property if it's small enough — it's invasive and lanternflies' #1 host
What we won't promise
We won't tell you we can keep your property "lanternfly-free." Anyone who promises that is either ignorant or dishonest. We CAN reduce honeydew problems, knock down adult populations on your treated surfaces, and handle the wasp infestations that follow.
